LØGNPROPAGANDA I et brev fra 1944 ber britiske myndigheter blant annet BBC om å videreformidle løgner om det nasjonalsosialistiske Tyskland.
I et brev sendt fra det den gang eksisterende The British Ministry of Information (MOI) den 29. februar 1944, ber myndighetene blant annet den britiske radio- og tv-kringkasteren BBC og presteskapet om å videreformidle løgnpropaganda om det nasjonalsosialistiske Tyskland og Japan. Dette da de er fullt klar over forbrytelsene som er blitt begått av bolsjevikene de siste tiårene i Russland og Øst-Europa, og frykter det samme vil forekomme i Sentral-Europa.
We know the methods of rule employed by the Bolshevik dictator in Russia itself from, for example, the writing and speeches of the Prime Minister himself during the last twenty years. We know how the Red Army behaved in Poland in 1920 and in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Galicia and Bessarabia only recently.
We must, therefore, take into account how the Red Army will certainly behave when it overruns Central Europe. Unless precautions are taken, the obviously inevitable horrors which will result will throw an undue strain on public opinion in this country.
For å lede allmennhetens oppmerksomhet vekk fra de fremtidige herjingene til den røde armé ønsket derfor britiske myndigheter bistand fra blant annet pressen og presteskapet til å videreformidle løgnpropaganda om Japan og Tyskland, fremsatt av britiske myndigheter.
